Hello! My name is Beverly Hayes and I love anything DIY–painting, sewing, refinishing, building, you name it! A few years ago I became interested in reupholstery. I bought a couple of wingback chairs from Craigslist and was determined to reupholster them and place them in front of my bay window in the Master bedroom. After a lot of you tube videos on how to do this, I finished them, and they are now sitting pretty in my bedroom space! I can understand now why a reupholstery job can be very pricey. It is a lot of work! Whatever reupholsterers charge is well worth it. =-)
My interest in wood working came about during my search for a storage trunk. I could not find the size that I wanted, the finish that I wanted, nor the price that I wanted. Then I thought, “Why not build it?” For weeks I became obsessed about this, and started doing searches online on how to build a storage trunk. In the end I did find some great plans to build one, and just ended up tweaking the measurements to make it bigger. I could not be happier with the results!
I currently live in Rexburg, Idaho with my husband Gene and my five children. I just finished Masters degree in Spanish Linguistics (phew!) and I also teach an online course for BYU-I. I am glad you are here and thank you for your interest in our site!
